چکیده

The nutritional requirements of maize are some the most studied factors in production this crop. It is known that nitrogen (N) major nutrient required by maize. Products based on microorganisms such as Azospirillum spp. can promote N fixation, providing yield gains. This study aimed to investigate agronomic efficiency and feasibility applying Grammy Crop® (Azospirillum brasilense-based product) different methods first- second-crop Experiments were conducted two seasons between 2019 2020. In first crop, a 4 × 7 factorial design was used, which factor locality (Candói, PR; Guarapuava, Santa Maria do Oeste, Sertão, RS) second treatment (untreated control, 75% 100% commercial A. inoculant, liquid seed treatment, peat-based foliar treatment). 3 7, with three localities (Pitanga, São Miguel Iguaçu, Serranópolis PR) same treatments. At physiological maturity, plants evaluated for (kg ha-1), thousand grain weight (g), plant height (cm), shoot dry leaf content (g kg-1), kg-1). All treatments improved productive, vegetative, parameters compared untreated control all crops. efficient improving under application, similar benefits fertilizer inoculant.

Tropical Legume Crop Rotation and Nitrogen Fertilizer Effects on Agronomic and Nitrogen Efficiency of Rice

Bush bean, long bean, mung bean, and winged bean plants were grown with N fertilizer at rates of 0, 2, 4, and 6 g N m(-2) preceding rice planting. Concurrently, rice was grown with N fertilizer at rates of 0, 4, 8, and 12 g N m(-2). No chemical fertilizer was used in the 2nd year of crop to estimate the nitrogen agronomic efficiency (NAE), nitrogen recovery efficiency (NRE), N uptake, and rice ...

Maize productivity and nutrient use efficiency in Western Kenya as affected by soil type and crop management

Low soil fertility and high weed infestation are the main culprits for the declining maize production inWestern Kenya. Technology packages to address these constraints exist, but their effectiveness is likely to be influenced by variability in soil types and farm management practices in the region. Trials were conducted during the 2008/2009 cropping seasons to investigate the nutrient use e...
